I Love You

Your name was nobody. Between you: four years old maybe, sitting besides the railway that goes from Bogotá to Santa Marta; and Me, maybe 23 years old at that time, sitting in a hot wagon; a deep look that goes inside and breaks the window train. You, a naked girl with crazy hair. Two eyes that stare the train without blinking when the train stopped. Two eyes that live in me deeply printed in my heart since that day in 1975.

A quarter of century later, that look still is looking for me. But every thing has changed. From being nobody you became somebody. With your name multiplied by all the foundation children. You can be proud, young unknown mother. Proud of being pregnant carrying me-- Moi pour Toit, because without your eyes that never closes, without the eyes of my two adopted children that are there to find yours, this wonderful love story would have been just a fairy tale. Now reality has a name: Monica, John, Viviana, Diego, Claudia, brothers and sisters of home, holding hands building solidarity, union and a chain of hope that crosses the ocean with a heart beat.

Your name was nobody and now it has become somebody. I still love you the same.
