Angie, the young girl from the
Valaisan foundation Moi Pour Toit, who needed a liver transplant to
save her life, was operated on in September in Medellin (central
Colombia). Heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to saving
Angie by buying a book or making a donation last Christmas!
In April this year, Angie’s health was failing so rapidly that the
transplant became extremely urgent. The foundation rented a studio
in Medellin, six hours from Pereira, so that Angie would be within
two hours from the hospital equipped for this delicate operation.
Five long months went by, seeming like an eternity to this eleven-year
old girl. Finally, on 3 September, a donor was found and Angie got
her new liver. She is out of the hospital but cannot yet return to
her home at Moi Pour Toit as she is being kept in isolation for a
few weeks. We’ll have more news in mid-November.
This year, I am continuing to donate one franc per book to the
foundation for their extremely important work. If you would like to
lend me a hand for my Christmas sales, tell your friends and
colleagues about my books. If you would like to put a poster up at
your work-place or favourite supermarket, I can e-mail you ready-to-print
A5 posters in PDF (Adobe Reader) format, or send me an e-mail with
your address and I will mail you the number of posters you would
like.
